About Sem Igual
Sem Igual means “No Equal” - It was chosen to define a Vinho Verde that is different from the popular fizzy and sweet style, but still made with the local grapes.

Wine Profile
Sem Igual is a blend of the two local grapes: Arinto and Azal. It is a non fizzy Vinho Verde wine, bodied and extremelly dry, that needs time in the bottle to express its high end. With high acidity
and long and persistent finish.
Sem Igual vineyards are mostly located in the heart of Vinho Verde region: Sousa sub-Region, Meinedo – Lousada, 30 minutes away from Porto city. There are about 10 hectares
of vineyards in a granite and gravel soil. The vines have ages from 6 to 70 years.

Producer
Since 18th centuary, the family produces Vinho Verde wines in the Amarante and Sousa sub-Regions.
João Camizão coming from the Telecommunications business, decided during an assignement in India, to become a new branch in the family producing wine - Sem Igual - an unique Vinho Verde.
The first vintage of Sem Igual was in 2012.

Wine Maker
Jorge Sousa Pinto, a Sem Igual man with an extensive experience in Vinho Verde wines. Working with the family wines for more than 20 years, Jorge is also passionate about out of the box wines and projects.

Name & Design
The sophisticated and minimalist label, was designed to meet the simplicity and beauty of the wine.
The creator was Celso Assunção (old friend from college times).
In Portuguese “Sem” has a double sense which sounds like number “100”, so if you turn the bottle to the horizontal position you will find the “100” number on the cutting edge of the label.
